Well done to our 2020 Couch to 5k group

Can anyone remember making new year resolutions this year?

What was your 2020 vision?

For those who came along to Great Western Road for the first time on a cold and dark evening in January, they didn’t know what lay ahead.

It was going to start with 60 seconds of running, and then some walking to recover.

That seemed like plenty. But it came with a promise...that next week we’d do a little more. And then the week after that, a little bit more again.

But, one week at a time. And oh how those weeks flew by. Remember week 5 when we ran 20 minutes for the first time? Remember week 6 when we all went for drinks in The Mariner?

And now here we are, week 9, and 26 runs later. One more to go. We promised you could do it, and you haven’t failed to deliver. A huge well done to everyone who has been part of the C25k programme this year.

And a special thanks to all the leaders who have helped out too. Couldn’t do it without you.

We look forward to seeing you for run number 27 at 6am. A celebratory breakfast will be provided afterwards, along with an enormous feeling of achievement
